Our Client is an HK Listed Financial Institution

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for legal and compliance function of the company by advising on, undertaking legal research on and drafting and reviewing documentations for a wide range of legal and regulatory matters
  • Draft and review a wide range of documentations conduct research and liaise with external counsels for a wide range of commercial transactions such as M&A in line with the Group’s commercial needs
  • Provide legal advice and support to management and staff by ensuring that commercially oriented, pragmatic and practical legal advice and solutions are provided in an effective manner.
  • Keep track of and research on compliance requirements and regulatory developments to assist management ensure that the business is legally compliant and is aware of legal and regulatory requirements when formulating business plans.
  • Manage all contentious matters including without limitation actual and potential litigations and enquiries/investigation initiated by regulators etc, conduct all necessary researches and liaise with external counsels.
  • Liaise with external lawyers with instructions to advise and act on legal matters.
  • Actively participate in all legal and compliance matters as directed by the Management from time to time and work together with compliance team members to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and company policies

 

 

Requirements:

  • University degree and Hong Kong admitted solicitor with minimum 8 years’ post qualification experience mainly in insurance, banking and finance industry, preferably with experience of working in-house

  • Strong ability to critically analyze and resolve legal and operational issues

  • Ability to act with integrity at all times and maintain confidentiality of information

  • Excellent communication, listening, interpersonal and influencing skills

  • Self-motivated and pro-active team player with strong problem solving skills

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese
