Our client is Very Large Public Organization in Hong Kong 

Responsibilities:

  • As a subject matter owner, responsible for the development and continuous enhancement of corporate reward strategies and provide directives/guidelines in alignment with the Corporation’s vision and mission, business needs and growth strategy.
  • Design, implement and maintain a professional corporate reward framework that can support the achievement of business objectives, is market competitive, sustainable and will serve the purposes of attracting, retaining and motivating talents in different countries, as well as sustaining a performance driven culture.
  • Oversee executive compensation and provide support on Remuneration Committee related matters with a view to assuring that confidential / sensitive matters are handled in a discreet and professional manner, sustaining a high level of corporate governance and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Act as a strategic business partner and a subject matter expert to work in close partnership with senior line management and HR teams to drive, gauge views and support on new initiatives; and to anticipate, resolve and participate in the planning of reward related matters with a view to supporting the business operation and the achievement of corporate initiatives.
  • Oversee, make recommendations and develop action plans on performance management systems, annual pay reviews, special pay reviews, as well as the payment of performance based incentives with due consideration of local pay trend, pay level, economy, staff sentiment, etc.
  • Responsible for the formulation, implementation and regular reviews of corporate long term incentive plans including share incentive schemes to enhance staff attraction, motivation and retention and align scheme participants’ interests with the corporate objectives.
  • Put in place an effective and equitable salary and grading structure and ensure the maintenance of appropriate internal and external equity through professional job evaluation and appropriate market benchmarking.
  • Have an oversight role over the day-to-day administration of all corporate-wide pay and benefits programs including retirement schemes, MPF schemes, corporate medical and insurance schemes, variable incentive schemes, share incentive scheme, etc. and ensure that the schemes are effectively and professionally managed.
  • Take lead to conduct strategic reviews and oversee the procurement/renewal process of corporate reward/benefit programs to ensure market competitiveness, cost-effectiveness and alignment with best market practices.
  • Act as one of the Management Representatives to meet with Staff Consultative Committee / Unions on pay and benefits related matters including annual pay review briefings, Salary and Benefit Study Group Meetings, Medical Co-ordination Group Meetings (as Chairman for both groups) and ad hoc meetings/gatherings to build harmonious and supportive relationship and sustain a positive staff climate.

Job Dimension:

  • Have an ownership and oversight role over corporate reward management
  • Supervise the Performance and Reward team
  • Manage two corporate medical schemes in Hong Kong
  • Manage one Hybrid Retirement Scheme, one Defined Contribution Scheme and two MPF schemes in Hong Kong

Decision-making Authority:

  • Extent and nature of authority to exercise judgment or make decisions without referring to higher levels.
  • Make recommendations on corporate reward strategies, pay and benefits philosophies/policies/structures/systems/programs, allocation and prioritization of resources, etc.
  • Make daily management and operation decisions with regard to performance and reward related matters
  • Authorize payment and expenses
  • Accountable for the quality of deliverables and services

Requirements:

  • University degree in Business Administration / Human Resources Management or relevant disciplines;
  • 20 years’ human resources experience, of which at least 10 years should be at a managerial level in reward management
  • Specialist Training: Labour/employment related ordinances, corporate governance, job evaluation methodologies, survey methodologies and analytical skills.
