Our client is A Well-established Think Tank in Hong Kong

Job Summary:

  • Research Director is a senior role to lead and oversee the research function, which forms a critical part of the Think Tank’s objective to be established into a credible and sustainable “Think-and-Do Tank” focused on youth development.    The three Research Directors are responsible for the initiation, execution and leading of their respective research projects and team, as well as the advocacy and promotion of the research outputs to various stakeholders. 

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and propose suitable youth-related research topics which are compliant with the Think Tank’s objective to be established into a credible and sustainable “Think-and-Do Tank”
  • Develop research plan with research approval, target outputs, resource requirement, timeline, milestones and process.
  • Manage the logistics and execution of the research works; provide supervision and guidance to the research team; resolve arising issues and problems.
  • Produce quality publications (reports, paper) and multimedia research outputs through collaboration with the Communication Team.
  • Develop and execute advocacy and promotion plan as joint effort with Communication Team and Community Engagement Team; identify the suitable target audience, advocacy actions and resources requirement.
  • Build and maintain a network of partners among schools, NGOs, youth groups, etc. to facilitate research works and educate stakeholders about the Think Tank’s works and mission.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to support the professional development of the research team individuals; build the Think Tank’s overall research capability.
  • As a senior staff member, provide input and develop the overall strategy and action plan for the Think Tank.

Requirements:

  • University degree or equivalent education/work experience combination, preferably with a background in sociology, political science, anthropology and/or public policy.
  • Experience working within a public policy, social development and/or youth development environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability in research for issues related to public policy, sociology and/or youth development.
  • Knowledge and experience in quantitative data analysis preferred.
  • Demonstrated interest in youth development.
  • Strong planning, coordination and project management skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
