Job Scope:

  • To plan, develop and implement Marketing and Customer experience enhancement strategies, initiatives and platforms by identifying over the horizon market/consumer trends which might impact the business and image of the Company, whilst driving day-to-day customer-related activities in an insightful but pragmatic way.


Key Competence of the Marketing Role:

  • To influence the thoughts and actions of wider team (from Merchandising, eCommerce, Sales Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, IT to HR) to deliver a differentiated and sustainable brand position
  • As a member of the Senior Management Team, be a commercial thinker, understand trading partners and pivotal relationships within the team
  • Build a marketing function led, developed in market to be a source of insight and influence on brand and consumer
  • Create business value from consumer insights and make practical recommendation
  • To consistently up-skill the capabilities of the team and provide them with great ideas, resources and tools to win in the marketplace

Major Duties:

  • Design and drive customer counts and average transaction value marketing strategy and plans, online and off-line
  • Develop and maintain continual awareness (online & offline) of external market trends/developments including competitor strategy and consumer requirements and translate into successful marketing initiatives
  • Work with diverse groups across the business to seek alignment between overall business and marketing strategy and the components that these drive (e.g., merchandising strategies, category strategies, annual plans, new product plans)
  • Devise appropriate tools and metrics to measure the effectiveness of marketing investments
  • Optimize website and social media channels to drive conversion and engagement 
  • Understand local customer preferences, behaviour, and demographics to design and implement the best current and future marketing initiatives across toiletries, beauty, health & wellness, pharmacy, confectionary, beverages and other product categories
  • Direct all category initiatives including product promotions and events such as Annual Supplier events, new product launch, merchandising, product display and store layout to further enhance our customer’s shopping experience
  • Work closely with Corporate Communication Department and the public relations agencies if necessary on positioning and promoting the brand, its products and experience to appeal to a wide and growing demographic and ensure highly successful product launches
  • Recommend and achieve the short and long-term goals and objectives of marketing / communications / public relations mission (working together with Corporate Communication Department).  Ensure the evaluation systems are in place related to these goals and objectives and report progress to Management.
  • Plan and monitor the marketing and promotion spend within the agreed budget.  Be resourceful to find the best and economic ways to promote the brands, products and the customers experience to existing and potential customers.
  • Engage, coach and develop marketing and related staff’s competencies and knowledge; articulate expectations and clarify roles and relationships
  • Act as Business Unit CSR ambassador to promote and communicate the Company CSR pillars, to initiate ideas, plan, coordinate and implement CSR activities according to annual CSR plan


  • An experienced, well-rounded marketing executive who has at least 10+ years of relevant marketing, communication and brand marketing experience with admired multinational corporations in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods and Consumer Packaged Products
  • Degree in Marketing, Communication, Business or related discipline
  • Excellent communication in both written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Good grasp of social media and website metrics and best practices an advantage
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at a time
  • A seasoned marketing professional: who has been with companies well-regarded for world-class practices in their marketing function and has the ability to inject relevant best practices and innovation into the organization
  • A culturally-savvy marketer: who has successfully taken marketing, category, and communications strategies and successfully adapted and implemented them in diverse markets
  • A market-oriented businessperson: who can translate local customer tastes and requirements into the optimal product portfolio for a variety of categories
  • A strong influencer: who can advise and work with the joint venture partners on implementing consistent category and communications initiatives
  • A passionate, balanced, communicative professional: who demonstrates the highest levels of integrity and is able to forge trusting, open, and productive working relationships throughout the organization
