Our client is A HK-listed Conglomerate

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Group CEO, this position will take full responsibility for all finance and accounting matters concerning the current and future state of the business. Working in strategic partnership with the CEO, the Board and business leaders in the organization, this position will play an instrumental role ensuring the financial well-being of the company.

Responsibilities:

Controllership Duties

  • Supervise the accounting and financial operations of the Company and the business units.
  • Ensure that the Group’s accounting policies and practices are in compliance with the requirements of the Accounting Standards, Listing Rules and Companies Ordinance.
  • Establish strong financial policies & procedures and best practices and provide proper training to the staff.
  • Ensure timely reporting of accurate historical financial information to shareholders, management, and the regulators.
  • Report monthly, half-yearly and annual results to the Audit Committee and the Board, and highlight major financial, operational and regulatory issues.
  • Oversee the Group’s tax planning and compliance function.
  • Coordinate in identification, management and reporting of the major risks of the Group and ensure that effective internal controls are in place.

Treasury Duties

  • Manage the Group's legal and contingent liabilities, commitments, and bank/loan covenants.
  • Manage the Group's cash flow and invest its funds, taking into the consideration of risk and liquidity.
  • Oversee the capital structure of the Group, determining the best mix of debt, equity and other sources of financing.
  • Maintain strong relationship with the bankers, analysts and the investment community in conjunction with the CEO and ensure that the Group has adequate funding for future growth and expansion.

Financial Planning and Performance Duties

  • Assist in formulating the Group's strategy and business plans and enable their execution.
  • Develop performance measures to monitor the Group’s return on investment/capital, profit margins, cost efficiency, and financial leverage and liquidity.
  • Build a trust partnership with the business units and senior management team by helping them to identify major opportunities for operational improvement, by the performance of analytics.
  • Leading the preparation of budgets and forecasts and performing of variance analysis.
  • Create and maintain financial models based on the Group’s growth plans and perform sensitivity analysis.
  • Conduct financial due dilligence on the Group's acquistions and investments, perform stand-alone sustainable profit analysis, and assist in negotiation.

Requirements:

  • A university graduate and qualified accountant with more than 20 years of solid commercial + rich PRC’s experience
  • Candidate should have progressive experience working with a company established in the PRC or with substantial operations in the PRC.
  • Preference should also be given to candidates with business experience in distribution/wholesale, preferably in fast moving consumer products, transportation and manufacturing.
  • Candidate should be fluent in Chinese (both Cantonese and Putoghua) and English
